What do you do?

Great question! In short, I'm a teacher, a trainer, a consultant and I help women to be business owners and get better results. I work with women of all ages, to help them start their own business as direct sellers representing Mary Kay Cosmetics and also I work as a beauty consultant/makeup artist to help women of all ages have younger softer blemish free skin.

I share resources I believe in. I offer classes I believe are valuable. I lead by example so you know I'm not teaching from a textbook or 'theory.' I actually work my skin care business on a daily basis. This week I taught a group of men and women about appropriate skin care and for the women glamour techniques to present their best "face" forward in job interviews for those who are in transition. I offered my gift service this week, designing one of a kind gift baskets for all occasions and my favorite the TWELVE DAYS OF CHRISTMAS! I would love to help you to start a business, or to make your gift giving easier!

I look forward to helping enrich women's lives.

I love Brides!

One of the best parts of my "job" is working with brides! What an exciting part of their lives to be included in!

Think about it~ one of the happiest days of your life thus far...
Party where you are the princess.....
Special dress, shoes, someone else usually does your hair
and someone else does your makeup ~ me :>)

The reasons my brides chose to have my service over going to a salon are: I go to where they are getting married; they get to "try before they buy" (we actually do a dress rehearsal on the colors and the look) @ no cost (salons may charge up to $100) Many of the brides I work with are more into looking "natural" and don't want to look different on their wedding than they do every day..... well that is another blog! :>) However, they will know after our first appointment that they can trust me to make them feel beautiful, not over done and uncomfortable.

the best part is that if you are a client of mine I do it all for free! You know you are going to look PICTURE PERFECT or you can even use my website for a virtual makeover before we get together if you are in the mood to play with color before your appointment.

If your skin is not perfect~ I can help- after all you want to have flawless skin to work with so that you don't need to "hide" anything. We have special products to correct any skin issues you or anyone in your wedding party may have! Tomorrow I will discuss the wedding party!

Priorities in life

This morning as I was enjoying a cup of coffee with my hubby and going over our next few days it occurred to me that through all the difficult times we are all facing I am blessed to live a wonderful life! My business is thriving! I am allowed to work with people I just LOVE! my priorities are God, Family and then career and my career is really going strong. We are traveling to visit our son this weekend as his football team is on the road, tomorrow night is Friday night football with our Senior high son. Tonight I am treating the stars in the unit to a special girls night out! Mary Kay's philosophy of God, family then career is one that so many women (750,000 in this country alone) are living by daily. WOW! how lucky are we to love our work, have flexible hours to enjoy special time with our families, and have executive income on these terms- oh ya and job security!

So I am off to enjoy time with the "girls" while we brainstorm our next fundraiser for the Mary Kay Foundation in honor of October and breast cancer awareness month.

Driving Free (and PINK)

Well, for all these years of driving a free car, thanks to my Mary Kay Career I was aware that people notice the words on your car (sometimes) I am having a blast driving a PINK CADILLAC and watching the people's reaction. It is so much fun to have them wave and point: do a double take~ :>) I think taking a road trip in a brand-new car makes the trip a lot more fun. With the Mary Kay Career Car program, you can set your goal, earn the wheels you want and hit the road in style. Join me as I blog my way to New York later this month!

The most fun though is that the women in my unit are actually now on target to get their own free cars. It is truly my mission to help as many women this month to start their own business with Mary Kay Cosmetics- why now? Well this month there is a limited time opportunity to really earn a lot more. But it is only for this month. If you are looking for something more, more money, more free time, more personal growth, recognition, limitless income potential- than you need to contact me right now!

Make up and skin care

Well, as Oprah says "This I know for sure". Mary Kay makes great skin care, when you use a good product, that is designed for your skin type, consistently it makes a difference in your skin!

When working with skin as a canvas for a "painting" it is better to have a good base to work with, if skin has been cleansed, and moisturized properly then the base foundation, whether liquid, cream, or mineral powder the foundation looks better, and all the following glamour products look better too. Makeup lasts longer when applied in this manor.

I believe even if a woman doesn't want to wear "Makeup" she is much better off with a great skin care regime that includes, cleansing, hydration, and protection. ie: Mary Kay's basic skin care or Timewise Miracle set. The proof is in the pictures!

Having fun and making women happy

I am so very excited to post my first blog! Forgive me if I gush! 29 years ago, I could have never envisioned this day. I started my Mary Kay career to earn $50 a week and get my skin care free. I was going to school full time, working full time and ran out of money on Wednesday. Does that sound familiar? Today I think many people have more week that paycheck! So with bad skin, no practical knowledge of how to apply makeup (beyond mascara) I embarked on a career with Mary Kay Cosmetics as an independent beauty consultant. I followed directions, read everything, went to the trainings, never missed a Monday night meeting and held 5 shows my first week after my starter kit arrived. There's more to that story but we'll save that for another day...

Never in a million years did I dream that one day I would stand in front of any size group and speak. (I sat for my first classes afraid to stand up and speak to a group) talk about personal growth!

Never did I dream that the little girl with the all pink bed room would drive one of the famed PINK CADILLACS and earn full time pay for part time work.

I built my business in those early years (did i mention it was a recession then too?) by doing the makeup for wedding parties. And later today I will go off to help Jenn with her makeup and everyone in her wedding party. I have lost count of the # of brides. Each time I help a bride look "Picture Perfect" for her special day I know why I love this business so very much.

Thank you for stopping by~ stop in tomorrow for pictures of our big event. and Make the most of your today!
