Millionaire Mindset

Day 24 of 100 DAYS: Tonight Kim D'Avanzo and I were at the Great Indoors Women's Night out. We say 30 women! Each of us did satin hands and mini makeovers on 15 women! WOW! What fun! I will be helping teach Darcie A of Brighton and her wedding party how to look Picture Perfect for her destination wedding this spring! I no longer want to call this 100 Faces in 100 days- I think it should be a 100 Day Blitz to see how many women I can see in 100 days!

Many of you know I am a voracious reader, and I am currently reading 3 books. One of my current reads is (again) "Secrets of the Millionaire Mind" by T. Harv Eker. I had an opportunity to hear Harv on a seminar and to be honest I am always skeptical of books with titles like this. Usually the secrets are to get a bunch of suckers to buy their book, so their "wisdom" falls flat with me. However, since my mentors seemed to find something of value from this particular book, I decided to give it a read. I must admit there are some rich nuggets of very very practical wisdom here-so I decided to share. You may read some of them and say "Yeah, yeah...I know."

So, I am going to invite you to take action.

Read the list, pick two items that peak your attention and take action to incorporate them into your business and your life. For the truly bold, I invite you to make your commitment out loud and to the world by listing your choices in the comments section of this blog or on my facebook wall.

I'll start by telling you my three:

-Grow yourself so that you are bigger than any problem
-The more people you help, the richer you become
-It's time to start sharing your gifts instead of hoarding them or pretending they don't exist

Millionaire Mind Notes -
What you focus on expands: Here is where I will share with you one of my favorite bible verses "if there is any excellence and if anything worthy of praise, let your mind dwell on these things. The things you have learned and received and heard and seen in me, practice these things; and the God of peace shall be with you" Phil 4:9 (NAS)

Stay as far away from complainers as possible (You become like the 5 people you hang out with the most)
The Law of Attraction = Like Attracts Like Goes back to what you think about you bring about!
What do people get out of being a victim? Attention Kathe's note: Victims are volunteers- put on your big girl panties!

There's no such thing as a rich victim

The #1 reason why most people don't get what they want is that they don't know what they want

If you want to be rich you have to be adding value to other people's lives

The happiest people are those who use their natural talents to the utmost

Entrepreneur: person who solves problems for people at a profit - a problem solver

The more people you help, the richer you become

It's time to start sharing your gifts instead of hoarding them or pretending they don't exist

Poor people make choices based on fear

Rich people believe that if worst comes to worst they can always make their money back

Rich people take educated risks

Poor people claim to be preparing for an opportunity - instead they are stalling. Meanwhile the rich guy got in

Rich people expect to succeed

Rich people focus on what they want

If you want to get rich: focus on making, keeping and investing your money

If you want to be poor, focus on spending your money
------------------------------------------------------------------
Get in the game with whatever you've got

Focus on what you have, NOT what you don't have

Find as many financial mentors as possible

Most people earn within 20% of the average income of their closest friends

Make it a point to only associate with successful, positive people (and remember, use your definition of success)

Rich people hang around winners

If you don't toot your own horn, it's possible nobody else will

Rich people are excellent promoters

Rich people are skilled at packaging their value in a way that's extremely attractive

Leaders earn more money than followers

If you really believe in your value then how could it be appropriate to hide it from others?

Grow yourself so that you are bigger than any problem

If you become a master at handling problems and overcoming any obstacle, nothing can stop you from success

If you are not willing to receive, then you are "ripping off" those who want to give to you

Money will only make you more of what you already are

Get rich by helping others

Get rich and then you can help MORE PEOPLE

Never have a ceiling on your income
The majority of millionaires became rich by being in their own business
When you own a business, you can save a small fortune in taxes by writing off portions of your expenses for car, travel, education, home, etc
Selling is one of the world's highest paid professions
You'll never get rich working on a straight salary for someone else
Rich people live in a world of abundance
You can be kind, loving, caring, generous and spiritual person - and be rich
The true measure of wealth is your net worth, NOT your income
The four net worth factors are:
1. Income
2. Savings
3. Investments
4. Simplification
Rich people take the time and energy to learn about investing and investments
Simplification = consciously creating a lifestyle in which you need less money to live on
Expenses will always rise in direct proportion to income
Know your net worth
To master money you must manage money
Rich people are good at managing their money
Start properly handling the money that you already have
You must acquire skills and habits of managing a small amount of money before you can have a large amount
When you begin to manage your money, you'll have plenty of it

My commitments are 1) To take the time and energy to learn more about different kinds of investments and 2)Create a lifestyle that requires less money to live on.

What will you choose to do?

the blessing of snow

The weather reports warned that snow was coming. So we busied our selves preparing for a "snow day". The excitement of sleeping in, baking cookies and special comfort food was on my son's mind.

While I understand that people are inconvenienced by the snow – school is canceled, driving becomes hazardous and electric power can be interrupted – I must admit that I was ready for a snowstorm this week. I wanted the quiet that so much snow brings; I wanted to snuggle in front of the fireplace with my current book and my cat on my lap; I wanted to make a big pot of soup and Colin wanted cookies!

My "in box" was filled with great ideas for "snow sales" but my clients were all well cared for because they were home I knew that most were available but also they were all on my books for future get~togethers for 100 FACES. The beauty of working when you work is that you can play whole heartedly when the time calls for that.

Why do I need a snowstorm? What is there about all the appointments and meetings on my calendar that require an “outside influence” for me to reevaluate their importance? I believe that when we evaluate our goals, and live by our convictions we can in good conscience take a day to relax and rejuvenate. Work when it is time to work, BE where you are 100% and play when it is time to play. Follow up, follow through and when the world is covered with a blanket of beauty like the snow we saw this week in Oakland county you can luxuriate in the pure enjoyment of celebrating snow. Live in the moment. Love your life. Know that you are just where God put you to be at that very time doing what you are to do.

I am thankful for the reminders that come with snowstorms, reminders to listen quietly for a moment. I am thankful that my business is not shut down by the traffic or the weather and that I can chose to dial up or down to adjust to my families needs.

It was thrilling to hear from Kim D this morning that her day yesterday, was 7 faces and several hundred dollars in sales arranged around a riding lesson and spending time with her horse "Red". Kim has embraced the concept of taking her business everywhere she goes and working around her busy life. She has balance and harmony and I know that she will have a great story to tell when she tallies up her experience from seeing 100 FACES in 100 Days.

professional developement coach

What I love about what I do is mostly that each day is different. It is always fun and interesting and filled with potential for professional and personal growth. As an Independent Sales Director with the #1 selling brand of skin care and glamour in the United States (Mary Kay Cosmetics) my primary job is to be a professional development coach for the women in my unit and my adoptees. Helping them to step outside their comfort zones and become the women God intended them to be. It is my true hope that by doing 100 faces in 100 days that this will inspire my unit and other Mary Kay Consultants to set that as a personal goal. Mary Kay used to tell us that the "speed of the leader is the speed of the gang" I want to see if that is true!
As a makeup artist and skin care consultant I am having a total blast meeting new women, and watching how much fun they have trying new looks. I think that most women love to play with makeup. I know that once we start wearing makeup we are hooked. Even women who "don't have time" like to have a Five minute "dash out the door" look so they are more polished and prettier. My motto is that makeup should look and feel like it isn't even there so that you just look polished and pretty- not ever "Made up"
So today is day 12 or the 100 DAYS challenge and next week is booked nicely with professional women and I am very excited after this week's success to jump into Monday with more bookings and building past 100 Faces.
So for those who know "DISC" the D personality types will just do it. The I personality will do it because it is FUN- and it really is; the S and C personality types will do it later after I show you it is worth while and give you the statistics. My question is will you start before I finish if you have weekly stats? Let me know! Thanks for stopping by and following along the journey of 100 Days!

Day 11 of 100 FACES in 100 DAYS

WOW! I fell really great! Yesterday we had a blast @ the Kim and Kim Party~ sisters, cousins and best friends! 5 beautiful faces (not counting cutie little Sara 8 going on 19) I think she is going to be my mascot though~ she is just way too much fun to have around!!Today 4 more faces~ my new client Megan from the internet searched for me via MK site and purchased $165. Nice 30 minutes of work... Then off to lunch @ Brio @ Somerset Mall with dear friend Kyle who also wanted to dip into the MK treasure trove in the trunk...

I love Fridays; work a little, play a lot, friends over for dinner and a little vino. Face count up to 24 and today I sold 1 classic basic skin care set and 2 miracle sets! WOW! I just realized that the count is nearly 25% done and this is only day 11!

Starting Over- no not me!

Today's Oprah article that hit my in box caused me to think on this subject:
"If you're dreaming about starting your own small business, take a lesson from these women who took a chance and started over. From an attorney who opened her own bakery to a stay-at-home mom who now gets paid to go kiteboarding, find out how you can pursue your dream job."

You read about doctors who study for years then realize they are in the wrong position; attorneys who don't do so well can usually become a great business person due to the schooling they receive; there are so many people these days, especially in Michigan and the southeast lower michigan area that by no choice of their own are being forced to recreate who they are... That caused me to reflect on just how lucky and very blessed I am to have a job I love to do ie: never working a day in my life! a job where I help women look and feel better. Where my chief responsibility these days is to make women happy and also to be able to introduce women to a business opportunity where there is no one laying them off, cutting their pay, telling them where and when they will work. Then i started thinking about the cost of setting up a bakery; restaurant; boutique; you get the idea- to start a new business there is so much involved financially, then there is marketing costs; and living expenses if you are not profitable right out of the gates... wow,now wouldn't that be nice?! Experts tell us in 2008There were 627,200 new businesses, 595,600 business closures and 43,546 bankruptcies. How about those odds? So here is the Mary Kay story. For the small investment of $100 a person can start their own business. That gives you a starter kit, and everything you need to begin your first 30 faces. That is called a POWER START. Because the statistics show that with that much practice you get better each time and your success rate when coupled with on line, and in person training gives a great opportunity to grow a very successful home business along side of what ever you are currently doing. The overhead is low. There are no territories or quotas. A new consultant can work anywhere in the United States. You can chose to build your team and all this comes with continuing education and on going support.

Support that I took for granted for so many years until one of the women in my unit shared that she began working @ a bridal salon and realized that no one really knew how to serve the customer's needs and did not know how to ask the right questions or how to really take care of a new client. All the things that we had been taught. I am so happy to have a career where I can earn what I am worth, where there are no limits to my personal or financial growth and where on a daily basis I make people feel great! I would love to share more about my passion of helping women with you~ just ask me .... Thanks for stopping by today to listen to my thoughts. Tomorrow tune in for the story of Kim and Kim.

Day 9 of 100 days

I have seen eleven faces so far in 9 days~ thanks to friends Dale and Karin for bringing over their friend and neighbor Kate. This morning I booked 2 more faces and online had a new friend Megan book an appointment from my website. So now I am taking the evening off to make "Soothing Chicken Wraps" like they do @ P. F. Changs. Only mine will be turkey.. Tomorrow I am going to see Kim and Kim and play with makeup with one lady who is a "dove girl" and the other a self confessed makeup junkie. I love it! This is really fun, and the great part is that I get to meet so many new people and they get to try some great fun new looks! I hope that it is contagious and that some of these nice ladies decide they too want to join my team. Speaking of my team~ We are going to make image books next Tuesday @ our meeting, for the simple reason that the old ones have all come true! and I really want a house on the lake! So thanks for stopping by if you and I have not sat down to play with makeup yet please write me a note and let's get together! If you are on my team I hope this inspires you to start your own 100 day blitz. A National Sales Director friend of mine said after her 100 day blitz she changed her whole career path and began her qualification,to become a NSD! Wow! I had never thought of that!
